Phrygia Valley

There is a large valley, which has traces of the Phrygian civilization in region between Kütahya, Afyon and Eskişehir provinces. Hundreds of caves are created by carving rocks, which consists of volcanic tuff in this valley that is spread to the outskirts of the Turkmen mountain. There are many beautiful villages and ancient ruins in the valley, which has length of miles. The caves, belongs, tombs and small churches which are from BC 900 to 600 years are lion of Phrygian valley. Furthermore, there are lots of healing springs within the borders of the Valley that caused the area to take the name ‘Phrygia Salutaris’ (Healing Phyrgia). It has been known for thousands years that there are thermal constructions such as hot springs and spas and they dispel healing. Nowadays, as a continuation of this custom, many thermal foundations have been established with enterprises of private companies and have started to serve health, sports, recreation, meeting and shopping services. Avgan Canyon

World’s second largest canyon is located within the boundaries of the town Avgan town in which Usak province. The Canyon, which began to be recognized after 2000, is 75 km long. Dozens of small canyon connected to main canyon along Banaz creek. View of the mountains and rocks is very impressive. Canyon is nearly returned to heaven with waters of Banaz creek. All kinds of fruits and vegetables are grown in Avgan canyon. Habib Metin, mayor of the Avgan town, major efforts to protect the region and to make tourism center. Can be done rafting in Banaz creek, climbing in the spectacular cliffs and the navigation with balloons along canyon.
